Upon successful completion of:

The Certificate Class

The Certificate Class is the first class you'll start with when you join VBI. This class consists of various courses that you'll attend over three trimesters. Each trimester lasts approximately four months, and you'll take examinations at the end of each section.

Certificate Class Course Outline

  1. English Language 11
  2. Homiletics
  3. Minor Prophets
  4. Principles of Deliverance
  5. Cult & Modern Heresies
  6. Introduction to Mission
  7. Life & Teaching of Christ
  8. Intro to Bible Doctrine
  9. Church Administration

Structure

  • Three trimesters, each lasting around four months
  • Examinations at the end of each trimester

Requirements for Completion

To complete the Certificate Class, you'll need to:

  1. Attend and pass the courses in each of the three trimesters
  2. Write and defend a project

Certificate Award

Upon successfully completing the Certificate Class, including writing and defending your project, you'll be awarded a certificate. This certificate marks the completion of the Certificate Class and qualifies you to progress to the Diploma Class.

Progression

After obtaining your certificate, you'll be eligible to move on to the Diploma Class, taking the next step in your educational journey at VBI.

The Diploma Class

The Diploma Class is a level of study that follows the Certificate Class. Similar to the Certificate Class, the Diploma Class consists of various courses taught by different lecturers. You'll engage with interesting courses, participate in weekly tests, and complete assignments.

Course Outline

The Diploma Class curriculum includes the following courses:

  1. Church History 2
  2. Pauline Epistles
  3. Synoptic Gospel
  4. Discipleship
  5. Prison Epistle
  6. Comparative Religion
  7. Comparative Religion
  8. Eschatology 1
  9. Greek Language 1
  10. Research Methodology

Structure

  • Duration: Four months
  • Assessments:
    • Weekly tests
    • Assignments

Examination and Project

After four months, you'll sit for an examination. To be awarded a diploma certificate, you'll need to:

  1. Pass the examination
  2. Write and defend a project

Certificate Award

Upon successfully completing the examination and project defense, you'll be awarded a diploma certificate.

Applicability

This structure applies to both:

  • Regular students (attending classes Monday to Friday)
  • Weekend students (attending classes on weekends)

Both categories of students will follow the same requirements to complete the Diploma Class and be awarded a certificate.

The Bachelor Class

The Bachelor Class is a level of study that follows the Diploma Class. Similar to the Diploma Class, the Bachelor Class consists of various courses taught by different lecturers. You'll engage with challenging courses, participate in weekly tests, and complete assignments.

The Bachelor Class curriculum includes the following courses:

  1. Soteriology
  2. Team Ministry
  3. Cultural Anthropology
  4. Curriculum Development
  5. Old Testament Theology
  6. Sociology of Education
  7. Christian Education Planning
  8. Pneumatology
  9. Christian Counseling Technique
  10. Strategy Formation

Structure

  • Duration: Varies (typically longer than Diploma Class)
  • Assessments:
    • Weekly tests
    • Assignments

Examination and Project

After completing the coursework, you'll sit for an examination. To be awarded a bachelor's degree certificate, you'll need to:

  1. Pass the examination
  2. Write and defend a project or thesis

Certificate Award

Upon successfully completing the examination and project defense, you'll be awarded a bachelor's degree certificate.

Applicability

This structure applies to both:

The Master Class

The Master Class is a level of study that follows the Bachelor Class. This class is designed for students who want to specialize in a particular field of study. You'll engage with advanced courses, participate in research projects, and complete a thesis.

The Master Class curriculum includes the following courses:

  1. Process of Communication
  2. Global History of Mission
  3. Church Education (Youth)
  4. Church Strategy for Christian Education
  5. Biblical Exegesis
  6. Expository Preaching

Structure

  • Duration: Typically 1-2 years
  • Assessments:
    • Coursework
    • Research projects
    • Thesis defense

Thesis Requirement

To complete the Master Class, you'll need to:

  1. Complete coursework
  2. Defend a thesis proposal
  3. Write and defend a thesis

Certificate Award

Upon successfully completing the coursework, research projects, and thesis defense, you'll be awarded a master's degree certificate.

Doctorate Class (PhD)

The Doctorate Class, also known as a PhD program, is a level of study that follows the Master Class. To be admitted into the Doctorate Class, you'll need to have completed your Master's degree, including defending your Master's project.

Admission Requirements

  • Completion of Master's degree
  • Defense of Master's project

Structure

The Doctorate Class follows a similar structure to the Master Class, with advanced coursework, research, and assessments.

Course Outline

The Doctorate Class curriculum includes the following courses:

  1. Five Ministry Killers
  2. Principles and Practice of Church Admin
  3. Christian Theology
  4. Strategy of Missions
  5. Undergraduate Curriculum

Assessments

  • Comprehensive exams
  • Research papers
  • Dissertation

Dissertation and Defense

After completing the coursework, you'll work on a dissertation, which is an original contribution to the field of Theology. Upon completing the dissertation, you'll defend it before a panel of experts.

Certificate Award

Upon successfully defending your dissertation, you'll be awarded a Doctorate degree certificate, recognizing you as a PhD holder in Theology.

Applicability

This structure applies to students who have completed their Master's degree and are seeking advanced, specialized knowledge and skills in Theology.
